Tomorrow is tournament day for the two varsity soccer teams from Greene County High School. Coach Maribel Hernandez’ girls go to Creston on Saturday while Coach Carl Behne’s boys go to Nevada.

Greene County’s girls haven’t gotten into the win column this season, but perhaps tomorrow will be the day. In each of the last two seasons the Rams had one victory and both times that one win was at the Creston tournament vs. the host Creston Panthers. The Rams have had difficulty putting the ball in the net with just one goal in nine matches this season.

The Nevada boys’ tournament features a number of outstanding teams and individuals and 2024 is no exception. The Rams are 7-2 on the season, but have dropped two of their last four matches. A strong tournament showing in Nevada could be a springboard into the last part of the regular season.
