The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Track & Field team captured the top spot in the Raccoon River Conference Championships to start off May.
The Tigers racked up 176 points as they defeated eight teams in the RRC. Beginning in the relays, ADM placed first in the 4×100 (49.98) and the 4×100 meter shuttle hurdles (1:06.35). The Tigers were second in the 4×800 (9:51.16) and the 1600 medley (4:31.69), third in the 4×200 (1:47.62), and fourth in the 4×400 (4:12.46) and the 800 medley relay (1:52.63).
In the individual events, ADM’s Junior Jada Grove (12.65) and Senior Jordis Ichelson (12.84) tallied first and third in the 100 meter dash. Grove was second in the 200 meters (26.43) and Ichelson finished sixth (27.34). In the 400 meters, Sophomore Brecken Morse (1:01.25) was second and Sophomore Brenna Seidl (1:03.63) was fifth. Junior Hannah Desmarais garnered a sixth place finish (2:33.90) in the 800 meters. Freshman Cora Shirley-Brown ran a 5:19 for fifth place in the 1500 meters while Freshman Allie Eggleston was in seventh (5:23.23). Eggleston (11:25.05) and Senior Paige Mattes (11:26.85) went six-seven in the 3000 meters. Sophomore Elise Coghlan won the 100 meter hurdles (15.68) and third in the 400 meter hurdles (1:08.25). Junior Madi James won the event at 1:06.90.
For the field events, ADM Juniors Aniston Tollari (16-07.50) and Calli Seehase (16-02.00) finished second and third in the long jump. Junior London Warmuth won the high jump (5-05.00) with Sophomore Madelyn Roundcount in sixth (4-10.00). The shot put saw Junior Kennedy Stanford tally second (38-04.50) and Sophomore Lauren Hagedorn was first place in the discus (118-02).
ADM is nearing the end of the season as they will be competing against seven teams at Atlantic High School on Thursday, May 9th at 4pm.
