The Dallas County Board of Supervisors decided to table a discussion about an annexation letter pertaining to the City of Grimes.

Dallas County Attorney Jeannine Ritchie shared with the board that she’s been working alongside Dallas County Engineer Al Miller on a 28E agreement for the City of Grimes on a voluntary annexation within an urbanized area. Supervisor Kim Chapman said that he didn’t support the annexation because it didn’t comply with the Iowa code. The decision was made to table the discussion to learn more information before proceeding with any action.

The board also had a public hearing on the Waukee Sanitary sewer easement and heard an update on the criminal court building. The only item on the agenda that the board approved was a Midwest Janitorial contract amendment as presented.
