West Central Valley FFA was able to attend the State FFA Convention last week, and members thoroughly enjoyed their time in Ames.
Members were able to participate in different workshops, competitions if they had qualified for them, and meet with colleges and businesses that were in attendance as well. Chapter member Kylie Chesterman tells Raccoon Valley Radio what she did while attending this year’s convention.
“I really enjoyed watching the different contests and seeing how other teams competed, as well as going around to different booths, meeting with different people from colleges and other businesses, and just interacting with other students as a whole.”
Fellow member Zoey Dickson shares what she thought was fun outside of the competitions they did.
“I enjoyed just seeing new things, learning new things in the workshops. And I’ve never actually sat through the whole session before, so it was cool to see the new officers get inducted.”
Member Tyler Abbott tells what competition from the multitude available he participated in.
“I competed in the Ag Team Sales, and we had the project of selling a drone service.”
Students were also able to take a tour of Jack Trice Stadium and learn about how the field was cared for, as well as participate in one of several workshops that were held over the course of the three day event.
