Greene County qualified its boys’ 4 x 100 meter relay for Saturdays’ Drake Relays preliminary scheduled for 10:12 a.m. at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. The Relays accept 96 quartets in the 4 x 100 and the Rams were the 95th fastest qualifier in 44.84 seconds. Waterloo East is number 97 at 44.87. The fastest qualifier is Ankeny in 41.76 seconds.

The Rams ran the :44.84 on April 15 in Jefferson at the Ram Relays with seniors Trey Schilling and Nathan Behne to go with sophomores Broc Stream and Nick Madsen. The  4 x 100 relay is the only event the Rams qualified for the Drake Relays this year, which continues a string of years head coach Chad Morton has had at least one event qualify.

All three Raccoon Valley Radio stations will have a series of Drake Relays updates beginning early Thursday evening and continuing Friday and Saturday with an emphasis on the area high school athletes that qualified.
