Greene County picked up its first high school girls’ golf victories of the season when they won the Southeast Valley tournament Friday at Dayton on the Oak Park Golf Course. Coach Heath Telleen’s Rams shot 226 for the round of nine holes to edge out Ogden by two strokes. The Bulldogs had 228, followed by host SE Valley with 233, South Central Calhoun (Lake City) 240, and 256 for Glidden-Ralston.
Golfers in the top five were medalists and the Rams had Taylor Johnston finished fourth with a round of 51 and Maya Telleen was fifth at 53. Hallie Monthei shot 59 with 63 by Skylar Warnke and 66 each from Maggie Mikkelsen and Alivia Cornell.
Coach Telleen reports the conditions were very cold and windy, but he was very proud of the girls and how they played.
