The organization Keep Iowa Beautiful gave out several awards to many businesses on Monday, and the City of Perry was recognized.

According to Keep Iowa Beautiful, their mission is to reduce litter and waste, educate the public on environmental and sustainability issues, and work to improve the beauty and vitality of the state. Along with the City of Camanche, the City of Perry was selected for the Robert D. Ray Awards of Excellence.

The city’s Marketing and Engagement Coordinator Chris Cohea tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the city was nominated for the award. Keep Iowa Beautiful presented three separate awards along with offering three $1,000 scholarships.
