A heads up for Jefferson residents, the first yard waste pickup is happening next week.

Jefferson City Administrator Scott Peterson says yard waste pickup occurs this coming Monday through Wednesday on your normal garbage pickup day. He points out some other details for residents to keep in mind if they want yard waste to be picked up.

“Just a reminder that you do need to purchase a yard waste sticker to be able to throw those away. The cost then is $2 per sticker. If you would bag those up, set them on the curb, and then the city staff will roll around and pick up your yard waste.”

Yard waste can be placed in biodegradable bags with the sticker on the bag. Peterson advises residents to also use the yard waste dump site at Daubendiek Park. Along with yard waste, brush with sticks and tree lambs, can also be disposed of at the yard waste dump site anytime of the year.
