Next week the Guthrie County Hospital will be participating in the Nationwide Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

According to Marketing Director Emily Irwin, the hospital will accept drugs from those wishing to dispose of those medications that are unnecessary or expired. This is a free service, and an important step in making homes safer through decreasing the risk of poisoning and inappropriate or improper medication usage. Medications may be safely disposed of in the hospital’s medication disposal bin, and a list of accepted items can be found on the hospital’s website.
