Dallas County was under a tornado warning on Tuesday, causing damage to several properties.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the northern part of Dallas County at approximately 11:11am. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team was activated and interrupted regular programming. A trained weather-spotter confirmed a tornado was in the City of Minburn at that time. In addition to the tornado warning, there was torrential rain and high winds in the area.
The warning lasted for 34 minutes ending at 11:45am with four Raccoon Valley Radio employees and Weatherology providing live coverage. According to Dallas County Emergency Management Coordinator AJ Seely, the tornado caused damage at several properties including a shed building at 24472 230th Street, an agricultural building north intersecting 195th Street, and vegetative debris damage north from 195th Street.
