The Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home and Crematory has been in the Perry community since December, but was honored with a ribbon cutting Thursday.

The Perry Chamber held the event at the funeral home to recognize the organization. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti thanked the residents of Dallas County for their support as well as expressing gratitude to the Co-Owners Mark and John Parrish. John, who runs the funeral home alongside his brother, commented on the community support since the takeover.

“It’s been very positive. We obviously came into Perry at such a tough time, it was amazing to see the resilience and the support of the town for everybody in the community, but especially being the new guys in town, they just welcomed us with open arms. We’re very excited to be here and excited about the future here in Perry.”

The funeral home was bought from Marcus and Mary Carris, and John emphasized that they offered help during the first month, to make it a smooth transition. The Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory has four locations, two in Dallas County including Perry and Adel, one in Madison County with Winterset and the fourth location is in Urbandale.
