Stuart American Legion Post 146 recently was awarded a grant by Farmers Electric Cooperative in Greenfield.

Post Commander Chuck Avey says that the $5,000 grant will be used in updating the heating and cooling system of the Post’s skating rink in Stuart, which he adds should have a total cost of $60,000. He mentions that the current system is old, outdated and inefficient. Avey explains that their goal is to raise the money needed, and install three commercial grade energy efficient systems and duct work to efficiently disperse air throughout the skating rink. For more information, or to donate towards the institution, you can contact any Post member, or a voice message can be left at 641-740-0341.
