A solar eclipse will be happening across Iowa on Monday, and the Dallas County Conservation Board is inviting people to join them for a special viewing program.
The board is having a watch party on Monday at Hanging Rock Park, 416 Redfield Street, in Redfield from 12:30-3:30pm. Conservation Outreach Coordinator Sarah McKeever explains that Dallas County is not in the direct path of totality for the eclipse but viewers will witness about 80% of it.
McKeever tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the eclipse will be at about 1:58pm, and that viewers can stop by at any time during the event. She mentions that the conservation board will be giving a limited amount of special solar eclipse glasses to watch. The event on Monday is free and open to the public.
