The AC/GC Chargers track and field teams made the trip to Van Meter last night, and took on some larger schools.
The girls team took 5th place overall, with performances highlighted by a 1st place finish by Ava Campbell in the 800 meter run, along with a 3rd place finish in the 1500 meter run by Cambell, a 3rd place finish in the 4×400 relay, 1st place finish in the distance medley relay and a 3rd place finish by Cadence Boals in the shot put event.
The boys team took an overall 2nd place finish. Key performances by the boys include 1st place finishes in the 200 meter dash, 3200 meter run, and high jump, 2nd place finishes in the 3200 meter run and 4X400 relay. In the 200 meter dash, the team secured 1st, 3rd and 6th place, took the top two spots for the 3200 meter run, and 1st and 3rd in the high jump.
