Greene County High School was one of the host sites for the Iowa High School Music Association State Solo and Small Ensemble Contest for Class 3A last weekend.

According to the vocal department, there were six Division I-ratings, including a perfect score for Daniele Madsen that did a solo. The other Division I-ratings for soloists were Gavin Vander Linden, Olivia Hoyt, Grace Hardaway, Bill Wright, and one duet with Madsen and Ava Schilling. There were four Division II-ratings, that included William Graham, Lucy Vander Linden, Ella Ostrander and Mason Lehman for solos.

Band Director Wes Anderson says they had two Division I-ratings with Bill Wright with a percussion solo and a duet with Daniel Strawn on tenor saxophone and Trysten Naylor on piano. Additionally, there were six Division II-ratings.
