The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session Monday night.
The Council approved liquor licenses for the Guthrie Center Golf Club and for the Pheasants Forever Banquet, along with a fencing permit for 701 North 4th Street. They also discussed a workman’s compensation quote that had been requested, and more information will be gathered and shared with City Clerk Kris Arrasmith once all data has been collected.
The Council then approved a Guthrie County Swim Team agreement, a raise for a city employee, and denied the accessory building permit for 607 North 4th Street. Compliance Officer Wes Clark will notify the owner that the building needs to be removed immediately. They also approved adding a line to accessory building permits where property owners will need to list materials that would be used in construction, and the materials would have to be approved beforehand.
The Council also approved a quote from Blacktop Services for work to portions of North 1st Street and the City Hall parking lot. They then heard from the City Hall report from Arrasmith, in which she shared that there was an individual interested in purchasing the lot owned by the City on North 1st Street, and that she would reach out to the City Attorney to move forward with the sale. The Council then reviewed steps for the upcoming budget process, and the notice for the public hearing on the proposed tax levy would be published this week.
