Thursday, March 21st

5:34am: A Traffic Stop in the 800 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Anthony Minnehan of Panora being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

1:29am: An officer located an Open Door at 509 East Gallop Road and secured the business.

7:42am: An officer removed debris from the roadway in the 400 Block of North Grimmell Road.

9:05pm:A Traffic Stop in the 1300 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Zachary Burbank of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

9:41pm: A caller reported an Open Door at 112 South Wilson Ave. The officer found tools inside the building, which appeared to be under renovations. The building owner was notified.

10:54pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 200 Block of East Perry Street.

Friday, March 22nd

6:40am: An officer investigated an accident in the 500 Block of North Elm Street. A 2011 Ford F150, owned and operated by Tracy Saffell of Jefferson was southbound on North Elm Street. A 2011 Mitsubishi Galant, owned and operated by Amie Kniffin of Jefferson was northbound on North Elm Street. Kniffin slowed to turn left into a business lot and lost control of the vehicle due to slushy roads. The vehicles collided with each other. The Kniffin vehicle had a reported $5000.00 in damages, while the Saffell vehicle had a reported $2000.00 in damages. One driver was transported by the GC Ambulance for possible injuries.

6:55am: Amy Van Der Meer reported hearing a possible gunshot in the 300 Block of North Locust Street. The officer did not locate anything in the area.

11:53pm: A caller advised of a Barking Dog in the 100 Block of North Cedar Street. The officer spoke to the owner and issued a Verbal Warning to correct the issue. They were advised if it occurs again, they will be cited.

Saturday, March 23rd

2:01am: A Traffic Stop near Elm and Lincoln Way Streets resulted in William Bejamin Poio, 49 of Jefferson, being arrested and charged with, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious.”

5:31am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 300 American Drive. The building was found to be secure.

7:13am: An officer assisted family members with a Medical Call in the 700 Block of South Elm Street.

9:20am: Dispatch advised of an Abandoned 911 Call near Cedar and Monroe Streets. The officer did not locate anyone needing assistance in the area.

Sunday, March 24th

12:33am: A Traffic Stop near Clark and Elm Streets resulted in Dayn Muniz of Fort Dodge being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”

4:13pm: Natalie Burnham requested a Welfare Check on a subject in the 1000 Block of West Washington Street. The officer assisted staff and family members in getting the subject to ER.

10:18pm: An officer assisted with a possible overdose in the 700 Block of North Chestnut Street. The officer transported the subject to ER, due to time delay with an Ambulance.

Monday, March 25th

6:00am: An officer investigated an accident at 220th and Elm Street. A 2010 Toyota Scion, owned by Natalie Gilliland and operated by Ellie Parker, both of Jefferson, left the posted stop sign on 220th Street, heading east. A 2018 Ford F150, owned by GCAS and operated by Hendrik Steyn of Marshalltown, left the posted stop sign, turning east from Elm Street and struck the Parker vehicle. The Parker vehicle suffered a reported $5000.00 in damages, while the Steyn vehicle had minor damages of $150.00. The accident remains under investigation.

2:26pm: An officer located a Stray Dog running in the 200 Block of North Cedar Street. The officer is working to speak with the animal’s owner about the issue.

2:41pm: An officer spotted a subject on a bike in the area of Maple and West South Streets, which he knew to have an active warrant. The officer stopped in the 700 Block of West South Street and ordered the subject to stop and speak with him. The subject fled into the woods south of the area on foot. Officers and deputies became involved in the pursuit. The subject took off on bike again heading north. He was caught in the 300 Block of North Pinet Street and arrested for the active, “Probation Violation Warrant.” Jessie Sanders, 22 of Jefferson was also charged with, “Interference with Official Acts – Simple.”
