For the 10th week of the Iowa Legislative Session, the biggest task had been finalizing bills.

Senator for District 12 Amy Sinclair tells Raccoon Valley Radio that while there were some important bills that made their way through the Senate, there wasn’t much back and forth discussion once they were on the floor for consideration.

“Largely, fairly non-controversial issues that have come out of each of our districts, or that were really department bills that we saw as code cleanup language and things like that. So not a really big week for controversial things that just needed to get done for us to move forward with the budget and our tax policy.”

Sinclair says that they did pass a few bills, including one pertaining to school safety, and their version of a State Supplemental Aid and teacher’s pay bill. She adds that that one went to the House, but came back after amendments were made.
