The June Primary Election is set for Greene County and there’s one contested race.

According to the Greene County Auditor’s Office, two Republicans have filed to run for County Board of Supervisor District 5 with incumbent Pete Bardole and challenger Sue Bose. All other county offices with respective political parties, are uncontested for the June Primary. For the other Supervisor seats for the Republican Party including Supervisor District 1 is Joe Gannon, with incumbent Mick Burkett not seeking re-election, Supervisor District 4 is incumbent John Muir. The Democratic Party has Greg Ruth running for Supervisor District 1, and Supervisor District 4 is Victoria Riley.

The other county-elected offices include county sheriff and county auditor. Incumbents Jack Williams and Billie Jo Hoskins are running as Republicans for county sheriff and county auditor, respectively. There are no Democrats that are running. There are no Libertarian candidates that filed. Hoskins tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Shane Monthei is also running for county sheriff, but because he is running without party affiliation, he does not have to be on the ballot for the June Primary.

The State Representative and Senator that represent Greene County are up for election, but do not have a June Primary contest. According to the Secretary of State’s Office, House District 47 has Republican Carter Nordman from Panora seeking re-election, and there’s no Democrat or Libertarian candidates. Senate District 24 sees Republican Jesse Green from Boone seeking re-election, along with Democrat Margaret Liston from Ogden, and there is no Libertarian candidate.

The Primary Election will be held on June 4th and will narrow down any political party contests for an office to one candidate before the November General Election.
