Perry Schools will have a new elementary school principal to begin the 2024-2025 year.

On March 21st, the Perry School Board reported that they have hired Laura Skeel to serve as the next elementary principal. The board notes that interviews for the position happened on March 19th and that the formal approval for Skeel will occur on Tuesday.

According to the school board, Skeel has spent nine years as director of learning supports in the district, being a curriculum director, the superintendent on district initiatives and a manager for all special education programs from preschool to 12th grade. In a press release, Skeel expresses excitement and humility for her new position. The school board declares that Skeel’s first official day will be on July 1st.
