The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center School Boards met in regular session Wednesday night.

The Boards heard a presentation from Caydence Boals and Lucy Knutter of the FFA Chapter about all the different things that they do, then covered administrative and financial reports. The Boards then approved the consent agenda including resignations and contract recommendations, then discussed the weight room equipment at the high school and AC campus and ways to maintain and replace equipment.

Both boards then discussed upcoming dates, including no school on March 29th and April 1st, a public hearing for the 2024-25 proposed property tax rate on March 27th and public hearing for the certified budget and April regular meeting on April 17th. They also approved the 2024-25 master calendar, adjusted 2023-24 calendar, 2024-25 Area Education Association purchasing agreement.

The Boards set a public hearing date for the certified budget for April 17th, approved the ability to transfer funds form the general fund to the activities fund, preschool audit policy review, and the first reading of revised board policy pertaining to open enrollment while waiving the need for a second reading. The AC Board then approved the purchase of a new digital sign and gas school bus. The GC Board approved pay applications for HVAC project one and two, and a change order for HVAC project 2, along with out of state travel for Distributive Education Clubs of America before entering into an exempt session.
