Dallas Center – Grimes girls golf is gearing up for the 2024 season and for coach John Klaessy they could be gearing up for an interesting year.
DCG wasn’t able to get anyone to the state tournament last year, but were able to finish in the middle of the pack in their regional, and will be projected to returning some members of their team.
According to Varisty Bound, DCG has currently 17 girls that are on the roster for varsity and lower levels, and will have good talent coming back from their team from a season ago in which the team went through some growing pains but were able to get a lot better. Two players that got a lot of varsity experience and will look to build upon their success last year is senior Mackenzie Towne, junior Sydney Miller, and junior Kylie Sonberg.
DCG will be continuing week number two of preseason practices before they get prepared for their first meet of the season that is happening Monday, April 1 at the Legacy Golf Course in Norwalk.
