A restaurant in the KKRF listening area has been named as a finalist for Iowa’s Top 10 Burgers.

Chuckwagon Restaurant in Adair was just part of the Iowa Pork Producer Association’s Pulled Pork Madness, and was recently announced to have one of the top 10 burgers in the state by the Iowa Beef Industry Council (IBIC). According to the IBIC, three of this year’s finalists have been named to the list previously, including the Chuckwagon Restaurant’s win in 2016. All these restaurants were part of a record-breaking engagement by Iowans for this year’s list, with more than 7,500 individuals casting their ballots for the top 10, and nominating more than 500 different restaurants in the contest’s 15th year.

According to the IBIC, to be nominated the burger must be 100 percent beef and served on a bread product. From there any combination of toppings may be added. Moving into the final phase, each of the restaurants will be visited by an anonymous panel of judges to evaluate the burgers based on taste, proper doneness and appearance. The scores and comments will be brought together and announced on May 1st to kick off May Beef Month.
