As the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Golf team prepares for the 2024 season, Head Coach Dana Brown talks about how unique the strategy is at a golf meet.

Golf stands out in terms of being a sport requiring more silence compared to the eruption of sports like football or basketball. Brown illustrates that during a golf meet, there are multiple golfers teeing off at once, making it impossible to navigate each player. She highlights that golfers have to make decisions by themselves as coaches might not be readily accessible. Brown credits the mental fortitude shown by her golfers.

“The mental toughness and kind of the poise that is required of golf athletes and just that ‘never give up attitude,’ problem solving, cause you are on your own a lot.”

Brown points out that it’s intense for athletes to orchestrate on their own without having a coach to help guide them. The first meet for the Tigers is April 4th at 4pm in Adel.
