Greene County has its third and final indoor track & field  meet of the season tomorrow in Storm Lake at Buena Vista University. Saturday’s meet will be the first coed event of the season for the Rams.

Girls’ head coach Derek Merk told Raccoon Valley Radio there’s a short turnaround this season between indoors and outdoors with the Rams going to Indianola and Simpson College on March 19. “We always look forward to that transition to the outdoor season, especially this week, Spring Break week, and a lot of the kids are away, so we only have about half our squad around. Indoor meets we typically only take a handful of kids and that’s going to be the case at BV, so Simpson will be the first meet where we’ll have a full squad ready to go.”

The coach added he thinks the Rams will be able to come close to filling all the events to begin the outdoor season.
