As the track & field season begins with practices going on now for the West Central Valley girls track team, shot put throwers Lilian Gilbert, Macy Long, and Brooklyn Easter prepare to return to the throwers circle for another season with the Wildcats. Gilbert, who is a sophomore notched in her farthest throw of the season at shot put last season at 28 feet and 5.5 inches, followed by sophomore Macy Long who threw for 25 feet and 4.5 inches with junior Brooklyn Easter throwing 23 feet 5.5 inches.

For discus, juniors Hope Hammond and Maya Richter prepare to return to the throwers circle for another year with the Wildcats. Hammond’s farthest throw last season with the discus went 89 feet and 9 inches while Richter’s farthest throw went 67 feet and 11.5 inches.

The Wildcats prepare for their first Track & Field meet at the UNI-Dome for the Dickinson Relays on Monday, March 5th.
