The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center School Boards met in session Wednesday night.
The Guthrie Center Board started things by announcing that they would be hiring Tandem Eischeid as the new Guthrie Center Elementary Principal. Both Boards then held a certified budget workshop, looking at what they may need to do to get everything into place, including sending out letters to residents of both districts regarding any tax increases. AC/GC Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that this is something that was newly put into law, but that helps explain to residents why there is an increase. He said that there will also be public hearings for each district where residents may ask questions and voice concerns.
Rasmussen explains that both Boards also approved the 2024-25 school calendar, though they did recognize that changes may need to be made depending on bills passed during the current legislative session. They also approved budget guarantee resolutions, the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy, and entered a 28E agreement with West Central Valley to share a teacher for electrical classes.
