Following a series of special meetings, the Perry School Board recently approved a process of how they will hire a new high school principal.

The Perry community is still reeling from the loss of High School Principal Dan Marburger, who passed away, along with sixth grader Ahmir Jolliff, after the January 4th shooting. Superintendent Wicks tells Raccoon Valley Radio following the loss of the High School Principal Dan Marberger after the January 4th shooting, the School Board approved hiring a search firm to assist in finding a new principal. Wicks presents the board’s reason behind hiring the firm.

“They wanted to be able to, I think, relieve some of us of those duties, just in this case because it is quite an extreme situation and a tragic situation and to be able to have a search firm would probably be a way to be as efficient as possible.”

The high school hired Grundmeyer and Ray Associates to work jointly as they continue to examine different candidates.
