The West Central Valley Wildcats hosted the Ogden Bulldogs on Saturday in a Girls Class 2A Region 2 district tournament game and came out victorious 52-21. The contest was neck and neck in the first quarter, but the Wildcats came out ahead by 2 points. In the second, the Wildcat girls shined, scoring 18 points while holding the Bulldogs to 4 making the score 26-10 going into the second half. Already holding a 16 point lead, the Wildcats were even more impressive in the third quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 22-2. Ogden would outscore the Wildcats in the fourth, 9-4 but the damage had already been done in the second in third, as the Wildcats vanquished the Bulldogs 52-21.
The Wildcat girls dream of playing at the Wells Fargo Arena for the State Tournament stays alive as the Wildcats advance to 12-10. The Wildcats prepare to take on the Panorama Panthers on Tuesday, February 13th in the next phase of the Class 2A Region 2 district tournament.
