A reminder that later today will be an opportunity for people in Jefferson and surrounding communities to hear from a local book author.

The book, “Back to the Futures” was written by Scott Irwin and it explains commodities, the basic operations of a commodity futures market, and the roles that hedgers and speculators can play in that system. Irwin is a 1974 Yale-Jamaica-Bagley High School graduate, who also has a doctorate degree in agricultural economics from Purdue University.

Irwin will be at the Author Talk and Book Signing at the Jefferson Community Golf Course Clubhouse at 3pm today. Following the program, Irwin will sign copies of his book and will have some for purchase as well.
