The Greene County High School Large Group Speech Teams are competing at the Iowa High School Speech Association State Large Group Contest today.
The Rams are taking seven entries with 32 students at Ankeny Centennial High School. The entries include two radio broadcasting acts, reader’s theater, choral reading, short film, group improvisation, and musical theater. Senior Nathan Ausberger is in short film that is about a 1990s sitcom. He talks about what he is looking forward at state.
“For state, I’m just excited to be able to improve on things. I watched the video over and over again, I know every single mistake about it. So it’s nice to get a chance to fix all those mistakes, and to show my family, and Jack’s (Hansen) family, and everything, I’m really excited for it.”
Entries that qualify to perform at the All-State Festival must get a Division I-rating from the room judges and be nominated by the judges. Those who make it to All-State will be announced on Monday afternoon.
