Nine individuals will be representing the Raccoon River Girls Wrestling Team today and tomorrow at the State Wrestling Tournament, with our spotlight on Sophomore Calista Rodish.

Rodish returns to the state tournament for a second consecutive year in the 125 weight class. She won first place in districts with a major-decision victory over Southeast Polk’s Addie Nelson. Rodish speaks with Raccoon Valley Radio on where she’s trying to improve.

“Just my technique overall. I want to try be more of a stronger wrestler, ya know, just not only physically but mentally and make sure I’m always thinking about my matches beforehand, knowing coming in with a plan, and knowing what I want to do, so just stuff like that.”

Rodish is one of the nine girls that represent Raccoon River Wrestling in the state tournament that will be held in Coralville at Xtream Arena today and tomorrow. The action begins at 10am and Raccoon Valley Radio will have all the coverage.
