Two Perry wrestlers will be in action this morning, Mercedes Ponce and Julie Maylum.  Their coach TJ Maylum says the girls want to “Give our town something to cheer for.  Be there to be that beacon… really gave them a purpose.”

Mercedes Ponce earned the 9 seed in her weight class of 105.  She will take on the 24th seed, Quynn Foster from Highway 34.  They are scheduled for the nineteenth match of the morning.

Julie Maylum claimed the 11 seed in her weight class of 140.  She will take on the Anna Johnson from Cedar Falls the 22nd seed. They are scheduled for match 139 of the day.

Both girls will see multiple matches in the morning session.
