
Dallas Center – Grimes basketball teams will both have major contests ahead this evening, with both teams to take the road against Norwalk in a significant Little Hawkeye Conference matchup for both clubs. DCG and Norwalk girls both enter with identical 13-3 records while DCG boys are 11-3 and Norwalk comes in at 11-2.
DCG was able to win the matchup on the girls side in Grimes 55-20 back in December. The 20 is a season low for Norwalk. Norwalk has one of the best players in the entire state in Bailey Birmingham, with the junior averaging 26.6 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game. DCG girls hoops has won 15 straight in the series.
The DCG boys have lost once in the conference this year, and that happened against Norwalk 55-52. DCG shot 51% from the field in that game but also had 13 turnovers, as Norwalk was able to play quality defense. DCG will look to slow down senior guard Redek Born who is the leading scorer coming in for Norwalk at 20.4 points per game.
