
A Saturday afternoon’s girl/boy basketball non-conference make up doubleheader saw Greene County and Manson-Northwest Webster square off for the first time in several years. The games were in Manson on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with the home team winning both contests handily. M-NW won 58-35 in the girls’ game and 74-44 in the boys.
The Rams and Cougars were tied 28-28 at halftime, but after the early going of quarter number three it was all M-NW. Junior Sophia McCollough poured in 34 points for the Cougars while sophomore Becca Anderson had 16 to lead the Rams. The Cougars had a huge free throw advantage at 21 of 36 while the Rams made five of their eight foul shots. M-NW improved to 9-8 and the Rams dropped to 0-15.
M-NW is 12-5 and the Rams 1-14 after Saturday’s game with the Cougars shooting 66 percent from the field to 40% for the Rams. Juniors Logan Moline’s 27 points and Kelan Koval’s 18 carried the home team. Brynley Ruzicka had 14 points and Gabe Ebersole 10 for the Rams. M-NW led 35-23 at intermission before the Courgars staedily increased the margin.
Greene County has six girls and six boys games from Jan. 29 through Feb. 6 starting with two makeups games in Jefferson on Monday night vs. PCM (Monroe). Those games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
