Playing some of its best basketball of the season, the Paton-Churdan girls and boys lost Rolling Valley Activities Conference games in Mondamin to Tuesday night vs West Harrison. WH won in overtime in the the girls’ game 43-38, then took the boys’ contest 65-53. P-C boys are 0-14 and the girls are 0-13.
WH led the girls’ game 15-11 at the half and the Rockets held a five point lead with seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter. The score was tied 32-32 at the end of regulation.Kaliyah Minnihan scored a career best 16 points for the Rockets with seven points apiece by Alivya Smith and Grace Cullum.
Trevon Keely had 21 points for P-C while Caden Stream and Blaise Schilling each scored nine points and Phoenix Hartman added eight. Jacob Berry scored 19 and Jason Barta 18 for the Hawkeyes. The home team led 31-25 at halftime.
