Several Greene County FFA members recently competed at the sub-district contest.

The Leadership and Career Development Events were held in Anita earlier this month and it’s a time where FFA’ers develop abilities to think critically, communicate clearly and perform effectively in the job market. Two FFA’ers were able to advance to the district competition and those included Leah McCormick in public speaking with a gold award, and Mason Lehman earned silver for creed and also advanced to districts.

Other FFA’ers competed in job interview, chapter program, ag broadcasting, as well as arc and oxy welding. Several other members participated in different quizzes, including Discovery, Greenhand and Chapter. There were nine members that earned gold and silver for Discovery, three with silver for Greenhand, and two gold and eight silver for the Chapter quiz.

The district contest will be held on March 2nd in Clarinda.
