Roland-Story swept a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy basketball doubleheader in Jefferson vs. Greene County on Tuesday night. The girls’ final was 65-12 and the boys ended with a 78-44 score and both games were broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
The Class 3A number 5 R-S girls improved to 14-0 overall and 9-0 in the conference while the Rams fell to 0-13, 0-8. The Norsemen were led in scoring by Mathilde Motta with 14 points and Riley Johnson with 12. The Rams had five points from Ella Shipley. The Norsemen led 3-2 more than four minutes in, but then the offense got going for R-S and the score was 37-5 at intermission. Greene County turned the ball over 38 times to just eight for R-S.
The Rams trailed R-S 41-24 at halftime of the boys’ game. The Norsemen are now 11-2 overall and 8-1 in the HOIAC. Greene County fell to 1-12, 1-7. Boaz Clark led the Norsemen with 24 points and he made six of the 11 trifecta’s recorded. Jonovan Wilkinson had 18 points. The Rams had 10 points from Nathan Behne and nine by Gabe Ebersole.
