Lots of people make New Year’s resolutions, with one of the more popular choices being more physically fit.
The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department encourages people to participate in the “2024 Lifestyle Challenge.” This is an opportunity for people to lose weight, exercise and live a healthier lifestyle. Participants will have weekly Friday weigh-ins for nine weeks, with the initial weigh-in tomorrow.
There will also be a fitness test on the first and last week of the program, with the goal of beating the initial test on the last week. Other benefits include a body fat, muscle mass, bone density, and body water percentage tests on the first and last week’s weigh-ins, a weekly record of weight loss and body fat percentages, and a cash prize for the individual and overall team winners.
The program is from January 5th through March 8th, with weigh-ins on Fridays from 6:30-9am and 3:30-5:30pm. There must be at least two and no more than six people on a team with a cost of $40 per person, or $30 with an employee discount should your business invest $10.
