The Perry Library is starting the new year off strong with adult book club sessions.
The library (since you mentioned the name of the library in the previous sentence, you can get away with just saying ‘the library’ here) will be launching various adult book club sessions in early 2024 that will be broken apart between monthly issues, a quarterly classics book club, and a monthly book club. Perry Library Adult Services Librarian Mindy Farmer encourages individuals to give the book clubs a try.
“One of the things that I really just kind of want to encourage people to do is give these book clubs a try. You are not locked in to come every month but if you see a book that you find intriguing or you kind of want to know what’s happening, you are welcome to come and join us anytime.”
Farmer notes the upcoming dates and times of the meetings for the clubs. The monthly issue club is traditionally held earlier in the month, according to Farmer, but due to New Years, this year it will be held on January 8th from 6-7pm in the Library Board Room. The quarterly classics book club only meets four times a year, with January 9th as the first session. This club will gather at the Carnegie Library Museum from 6-7:30pm. The final book club is for the monthly edition, which meets on the third Tuesday of each month. This session will fall on January 16th from 1-2pm at the library. If you have any questions regarding the book clubs, get in touch with Mindy Farmer by emailing mfarmer@perry.lib.ia.us or calling the library at (515)-465-3569.
