Tiger Quarterback Aiden flora has committed to Iowa State University. A school that is only 45 minutes away from his home in Adel, but the school being close wasn’t his reason for choosing the school. In fact it was because of how accepted he felt by the coaching staff at ISU. “I wanted to go to a place where I felt I was wanted and people wanted me to be there coaches wanted me to be there and took me out of their wing right on my first visit and ever since then I kind of was in love with the place and love with the team in love with the program that’s what I wanted in a team that is going to play my next 4-5 years at.”

Aiden faced challenges in his senior year, him and his team had to adjust to a new coach while also learning something new about himself along the way, “Getting the new coach pretty late in the summer was it was hard for us to kind of open gyms get everyone at lifting and get everyone accountable so the biggest thing I learned from all the coaches was definitely being the leader that I needed to be in the seniors that you really prepare yourself for the team.

Initially expecting to play as a receiver in college, Aiden found himself transitioning to the running back position. Trusting the coaches’ vision for him, he’s ready to embrace the challenge and contribute to his new team.

“Well I would say I had a choice but originally I thought I was going to play receiver in college so I was going to these camps as a receiver and then I even went to the Iowa State one that receiver and then kind of just said we love the vision of you back running back and it was off from there.”

As Aiden prepares for his first year at Iowa State, he acknowledges it will be a learning and developing experience. He plans to immerse himself in the playbook, keep an open mind, and work hard to earn his spot on the field.

With commitment, adaptability, and a love for the game, Aiden Flora sets his sights on making a meaningful impact at Iowa State University. Only time will tell the story of this promising athlete’s journey with the Cyclones.

Flora had multiple offers outside of ISU. Other schools interested in the standout athlete was Air Force, Army, Princeton University, Dartmouth University, University of Sioux falls, Upper Iowa University, Grand View University, and Morningside University.

Head coach of ISU, Matt Campbell, had this to say about his future player as well, ”Aiden Flora may be one of the best young football players in the state. For him to come to our football program, I think he can do a lot.” (Quote from Des Moines Register)

In his senior year, Aiden Flora threw for 1,124 yards and 13 touchdowns while running for 1,932 yards (10.3 yards per carry) and 27 to add on.
