With the second half of the school year underway for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District, the Superintendent shares his thoughts on how the first half went.
Superintendent Greg Dufoe is looking forward to the second half of the school year after praising how well the first half went. Superintendent Dufoe points out that the year started out with great momentum in the fall transitioning into the winter season. Dufoe emphasizes the reason why the first half was so smooth was due to the dedication of the staff.
“It’s not all sunshines and rainbows. It’s hard work and we need obviously to accept that fact, like lots of jobs are. It’s work. And being in a school system is no different, whether you’re a custodian, a bus driver, an associate, a school teacher, an administrator. Some days are long and hard, and that’s ok.”
Superintendent Dufoe embraces the challenge of tackling “The dog days of winter,” referencing January and February before pushing through the spring to the end of the school year. He doubles down by reinforcing that some days do feel sluggish but the months fly by. Dufoe feels like ADM is in a good spot, saying “It’s a great time to be a tiger,” and that the staff intends to keep working hard to continue to make great things happen.
