Tiger basketball is not the only sport returning this week. Other sports that are coming back from winter break are both wrestling teams and bowling.
The community women’s wrestling team Raccoon River Wrestlers will be returning to the mats this Thursday, January 4, to compete in the Nevada Round Robins tournament. Their last meet was a Triangular meet against Perry and Ankeny. Beating both teams. 69-9 against Perry and 43-33 against Ankeny. Following Thursdays Tournament the RRC could potentially travel to Wisconsin to compete in the “Clash Nationals Girl’s Duals II” in La Crosse.
The men’s wrestling team will also return to the mats this Thursday to compete in a triangular meet of their own, that includes Carroll and Ballard. The Tiger men’s last meet was a Triangular on December 19, before winter break, against Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln and Des Moines East. Against CB Abraham Lincoln they lost a close match of 48-31. Against Des Moines East the Tigers fell with a score of 51-27. After Thursdays Meet the Tigers will compete at Winterset in the “Winterset Varsity Wrestling Tournament.”
