
The Stuart Lions Club is preparing for their annual Christmas Celebration.
On Saturday, December 9th, there will be many fun events to help celebrate the season. The day starts off with showings of the movie “Smallfoot ” at the Stuart Fremont Theater at 9 and 11:30am, with the annual Kids Shop Free event at the First Congregational Church from 10am to 2pm. From 11am to 2pm there will be a free will offering soup lunch, with soup options to include chili, vegetable, potato and broccoli cheese, with desserts and drinks available as well.
In conjunction with the soup meal, there will also be opportunities for individuals to enter drawings for chamber bucks, gift cards/certificates and gifts from local businesses. At noon Santa will visit to hear from all the children that visit, and from noon to 1pm, there will be some Santa Train Rides outside. The Tour of Homes will be from 2-5pm, with indoor and outdoor tours of the decorated locations.
At 4:30pm the Lions Club will power on the Christmas lights decorating the big tree by The Depot, and from 5-8pm there will be horse drawn carriage rides beginning and ending at the Congregational Church. It is requested that those interested sign up beforehand, with sign up beginning at 11am.
