Greene County hosted Ballard (Huxley) on Monday in high school bowling at Spare Time Lanes in Jefferson. Coach John Woodford’s boys won by a 2,717-2,536 score while the Rams dropped the girls’ match 1,909-1,497. The Greene County boys are 2-0 while the girls are 0-2.
Rolling the high series for the Rams and overall was senior Carter Fecher at 463 for two games. He also had the high single game at 247 and the second highest at 216. Trystan Cummings went 211-192 for a 403 series, second best on the day. Teagan Chisholm went 169-186 for 355 and Chase Fecher rolled 142 in game one, but 204 in game two for 346. Brenden Wright led Ballard with a 361 series including a 200 game.
Graci Cooklin led the girls for Greene County at 128-113=241, followed by Ava Schilling 106-123=229, Rozella Helms 108-108=216, and Naveah Kelly 80-96=176. Chastyn Gering of Ballard led with a 285 series.
Iowa high school bowling starts with two individual games to determine a bowler’s series, then Baker format games are played with five from each team taking turns bowling one frame each twice through for 10 frames to determine the game score.
