As basketball teams get ready to truly start their seasons, here’s a reminder of a rule change that those watching may need to know.

The National Federation of State High School Associations decided to adopt a foul rule seen in women’s college basketball for both boys and girls high school basketball, meaning that starting this year, there will no longer be one-and-one fouls. It also means that there will only be five team fouls recorded each quarter, with teams entering the bonus phase once they have reached that point, and at the end of each quarter, the team fouls count will be reset.
