The annual Winter Festival Celebration of Trees is this weekend in Jefferson.
Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich says the two-day event will be at the Jefferson Elks Lodge starting Friday from 4-7pm. Individuals and families are encouraged to drop by to tour the trees that are on display, along with treats and hot chocolate, a scavenger hunt, other kid activities and hay rides. Wetrich points out that same night from 7:30-10pm will be an after hours event for adults only. He describes the details of that night time event.
“And there will be speciality drinks, for example, Santa Claus Mopolitan if you will. (We) got a handful of drinks, the Shuffle Couple will be there playing some music, there will be other additional games, and there will be food as well, and you come in you get a free drink ticket even to get you started. We are very excited about this as well.”
Then on Saturday, the Elks Lodge will be open to everyone from 10am-4pm, with the same activities as Friday. The hayrides will be from 1-4pm and Santa will be there from 2-4pm on Saturday and 5-7pm on Friday. Wetrich adds the overall event is free and no pre-registration is necessary.
