A new event that started last year with the Perry Chamber makes it return this holiday season.

Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the 2nd Annual Peppermint Walk takes place from December 1st through the 9th and includes a passport of the participating businesses where a customer that makes purchases at three different locations, submits their passport to the Chamber, and will be entered into drawings for prizes. Pasutti explains that last year the Peppermint Walk was just a two day event and now it lasts for eight days. She talks about one of the main reasons for stretching this promotion out for six more days.

“Sometimes when we have these annual events there’s always something going on all the time, whether it’s in town or otherwise. So there’s always competition when it comes to these kinds of events, especially at shopping events. Just think back to Art on the Prairie weekend, Small Business Saturday, there’s just always something going on. So I think it’s really just a chance to make it easy for everyone to participate.”

Last year, this event had 26 businesses and had over 100 passports submitted for drawings. Pasutti hopes that by extending the Peppermint Walk to include additional days more people will take part.
