AC/GC Drum Major Andrew Mahaffey with Class 2A 1st Place Trophy From Creston Competition

The All-State Music Festival is today, and Guthrie County has one representative participating.

Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Senior Andrew Mahaffey auditioned as a tenor for the choir, and after a callback, received the news that he’d been selected to take part in the Festival. Mahaffey told Raccoon Valley Radio that he’d been working hard his entire high school career to make it to the music festival, and felt ecstatic that he’d finally made it. The concert is tonight at Iowa State University in Ames.
