The ADM Esports Team is heading to Marshalltown today to compete in the state competition for Super Smash Bros; Ultimate (SSBU), this is not their first state tournament , but a new position for them as last spring they came in as the 8th seed. Now they are positioned as the top-ranked team for the fall season. Reflecting on last spring and the results of Mario Kart Ian Chase, a team member shared, “we took it as, next year we’re going to come back and do very well.” This focus has also given them a way to grow their team play as communication has helped them find success in multiple matches. Allowing the team to address in-game challenges and adjust their strategic approach. “you got lean on your teammates at some point during the competition”

As they head over to state competition, the ADM Esports Team enters with confidence born out of dedication and growth. Their journey has been characterized by an honest commitment to improvement, shown through their strong communication and strategic understanding of their opponent and each other. Athlete Hatchitt spoke on how the team relies on each other,  “This is a team sport you might be playing individually every match but even if you do bad even if you mess up you have to stay positive because you got your teammates to back you up and to get those points so you can win overall.”
